The Next Test Join Forces with Gloucestershire CCC

Working together to develop responses to the climate and nature crisis

The Community Climate Action Project is pioneering bold and fair community-led climate action in Bristol.

We are excited to announce that this summer, The Next Test will be teaming up with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and Bristol Climate and Nature Partnership to provide outreach and education on the climate and ecological emergency and its impacts on cricket and to develop a climate action plan for Bristol’s cricketing community.

Together we will be reaching out to Bristol’s cricketing community at all levels of our game, from the grassroots to the professionals.

Over the summer, we will be running outreach stalls at a number of matches at the SEAT Unique Stadium, as well as at other grassroots clubs and events. This will be followed by a further round table event in the Autumn, of which details will follow later.

Confirmed Dates:

Sunday 9th June 2024:

T20 Double Header!

Gloucestershire vs. Sussex Sharks, plus Western Storm vs. Southern Vipers

Thursday 13th June 2024:

Bristol West Indies CC - Rose Green, Whitehall

Wednesday 3rd July 2024:

We are excited to be a part of The Community Climate Action Project, coordinated by Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership and kindly supported by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund.

Together, The Next Test and Gloucestershire CCC will have a chance to open the floor to hear the key concerns of the cricketing community; especially those less represented in our game. We hope to share some of the real solutions already being championed and build a coherent voice to garner hope and inspire action.

If you love cricket as much as we do and are curious about the impacts climate and ecological emergency is having in our game then do get in touch.

Visit The Next Test website for free resources, to sign the pledge or to get involved - we are actively seeking volunteers to support our growing organisation.
