TNT launch at C&G Festival
Huge thanks to Gloucestershire CCC who invited us to the historic Cheltenham Cricket Festival to launch The Next Test into the world.
We had a stunning day on Friday 21st July with Gloucestershire vs Glamorgan. Meeting with amazing and legendary Annie Chave the Editor and Founder of the County Matters Magazine.
This was followed by a soggy Saturday, with an absolute washout. Even TMS was waiting for play to resume for the 4th Ashes Test. The radio mutters in the background with historic fixtures to fill the airtime, as we all wrap, try our utmost to stay dry, the sandwiches helped morale.
This start of the season has been a challenging one for Glos. And other squads no doubt, the opening of the cricket season saw, storms, adverse weather events and flooding to pitches and grounds. Causing many matches to be postponed. What kind of impact is this having on the athletes?
This is a pattern now not unlike the rest of the nation. 2023 March has been the wettest on record, impacting the pitch preparation ready for the season.
This is one of the reasons our organisation exists. Not to sit on a soggy Saturday but to become a hub of knowledge on why these adverse events are becoming more frequent, the long term impacts this will have on the game at all levels, but more importantly the solutions we as cricket lovers, the wider community of fans and players can do in the face of the climate crisis.
We expect our game and all those who love it to pave the way for another century of play. what we do in the next few years will determine the future. We believe cricket has a duty to be on the right side of history.
